Rainbow Brite - Fan Reboot/Redraw Concept

Back in July of 2023, I made a small sketch concept of how I would reimagine a design for one of the animated 80's icons, Rainbow Brite! I love this character because of her confidence she carries on her adventures and the positivity she shares to many others in the cast of the film and TV series! So I got inspired to play around with some ideas that would cater to both fans of the original while giving a new visual spin that would still feel modern, cute, and be easier to mold into a modern toy version of the character.

Later in November of 2023, I had a chance to sit down and reimagine the scene where Rainbow Brite uses her Rainbow Belt to defeat the King of Shadows. For this one, I decided to use the personal character redesign for this one and try to recapture the scene with the same tone & atmosphere of the original.

This was a lot of fun and I'd like to do more Rainbow Brite redesigns into 2024 as a "40th anniversary" celebration project throughout the year!
